20 Questions: A Day in the Life of…Alexandra Monir

Alexandra Monir is the author of the novel TIMELESS, which was just released in paperback from Random House Children’s Books. Her publisher has also just released “Secrets of the Time Society,” an e-book short story that serves as a bridge between TIMELESS and Monir’s upcoming novel, TIMEKEEPER. Alexandra took some time to answer our 20 Questions and share what it's like to be her for a day.

What time did you wake up?
8:45 AM.

Did you make your bed?
I sure did! Where did you spend your day? Alexandra Monir: You caught me on a good day- I went out to lunch and shopping in Santa Monica with my mom, and my grandfather who is here visiting from Paris. Who did you see/call? Alexandra Monir: I saw my family and my boyfriend.

How many times did you check Facebook or Twitter?
Once each.

Did you respond to reader mail?
Yes! :)

What did you do on a book project today?
Wrote a new scene and brainstormed on the plot.

How did you procrastinate?
There are always so many things I have to do in addition to writing --- sometimes it's hard to fit everything in!

What did you accomplish?
I wrote an exciting new scene for the book, and also got a new MacBook Pro to write with!

What did you want to accomplish?
Solid progress on the book, and some headway with my massive To-Do list. 11.

What was the weather?
Mild --- not too warm, not too cold.

What were you wearing?
White sweater with skinny jeans tucked into black over-the-knee boots.

What did you read?
Research material!

Did you listen to music, if so what?
Yes, I listened to music that inspires my writing. Today it was the Downton Abbey score. :)

What was the healthiest and unhealthiest thing you ate?
Healthiest: Salad. Unhealthiest: Cookies & cream gelato!

Did you exercise?
Does walking my dog count? :)

What was the best part of the day?
Shopping with my mom.

What was the worst part of the day?
Waking up feeling stressed over all the work I have left to complete!

Any surprises today?
I decided to get glasses to wear at home and while writing --- I thought I'd only ever be a contact lenses girl!
