With her trademark wit and sarcasm, Lisa Lutz, whose latest book TRAIL OF THE SPELLMANS is on-sale now, recently took some time out of her very busy schedule to answer some of our very intrusive questions. Below, Lisa shares what it's like to be her for a day that's filled with kale smoothies, procrastination and singing telegrams!


What time did you wake up?
I don’t know. Who keeps track of those things?

Did you make your bed?
Heh. That’s funny.

Where did you spend your day?
Inside, so far.

Who did you see/call?
No one.

How many times did you check Facebook or Twitter?
I refuse to answer that question.

Did you respond to reader mail?
No. I’ve outsourced that job to India.

What did you do on a book project today?
Fret, mostly.

How did you procrastinate?
See that thing I refused to answer above.

What was the weather?
If you’re planning to visit, I’d bring a jacket.

What were you wearing?
My finest pair of pajamas.

An ARC of Gillian Flynn’s next book GONE GIRL (snagged last copy from my agent, thank you Stephanie).

Did you listen to music, if so what?

What was the healthiest and unhealthiest thing you ate?
Kale smoothie and a monte cristo sandwich (I’m just lying now. Well, not about the Kale smoothie.)

Did you exercise?
No! Give it a rest, will you?

What was the best part of the day?
I sure as hell hope it hasn’t happened already.

What was the worst part of the day?
Discovering what a lazy bum I am.
